Hair Donation Update

I'm getting so nervous about cutting my hair!! I think I have just gotten so used to it that ill miss it when it's gone. I know it's only hair but I just have been growing it for about 1-2 years now, I know I give out about it and it drives me mad when washing and drying it but ill still miss it lol 

When my hair is down fully its to the top of my bum its about 23in maybe 25in my tape measuring skills aren't the best. I still haven't found a charity that I wish to donate it to as most of them do not take coloured hair, so if you know of one that does please let me know.  As soon as I get it cut I will be growing it again to donate it all over again. I think that it is such a great thing to do. When you think of it we cut our hair and its thrown in the bin when you could donate it and makes someone's life a whole lot better. 

To help my grow quicker I have been using little or no heat at all on it. I will let it dry nearly every time I wash it once or twice I will blow dry it if I'm in a hurry. I try not to use many products on it to. Just shampoo and conditioner and that's it most of the time. 

I decided to donate my hair 2 years ago it wasn't a hard decision for me. My nanny was diagnosed with cancer and I thought to myself that if she lost her hair I would give her mine as I was growing it for that purpose anyway, I just never in a million years thought it would be for a family member. My nanny was one of the lucky ones she didn't lose her hair and she has been given the all clear this year from cancer, which we are all so thankful for. 

It annoys me when people find out I'm donating my hair and think I must be making money from it!! I am not making any money from this! I am donating my hair to a charity, the only thing I am getting from this is knowing that I have done a good thing for someone I don't know. I may also be doing a fundraiser but I haven't made any plans or thought it trough yet but I will keep you all updates on my plans.

Review: Mane'n Tail Hair Care

So most if you will know that I have been worried about my hair over the past few weeks. From a very young age my hair has always been very thick but lately it just seamed very thin and limp. I have been looking in line for things but they have been so expensive. I had heard about the Mane'n Tale a few months ago but it never crossed my mind that I might need it, so when I seen it in Boots the other day I just knew that I had to try it!.

Holy Jammie doggers!!!!best conditioner EVER!!! 

My hair is finally back to its fuller, thicker heavier self. I am soooo happy to have my thick hair back! 

While I was applying the conditioner and it just didn't seam like it was doing much so I was setting myself up for a let down. Omg!! Let me tell you when I was blow drying my hair it was like "BAMB"!!! Thick hair!! I just keep feeling my hair, I'm in shock I really didn't think it would work after just one wash! I use to hate my thick hair now I am so happy to have or back. 

I only bought the conditioner but I will definitely be buying the  shampoo and an other two conditioners, I run out of conditioner after 2-3 washes as my hair is super long. 

I would definitely recommend this conditioner! Big 5 Stars/High 5/ Thumps Up the lot, absolutely great stuff!

Tk Maxx, Boots and Disney Shop Haul!!

Hi Guys, 

I took a ramble over to Grafton Street today to have a look and pick up one or two things, but to mainly bring Seán over to the Disney Shop and treat him to something nice :) 

His face lit up when he seen the shop it was like Christmas morning, he was super excited. It was so cute!:) He picked up a Monsters University coloring case, Monsters University Watch and a Toy Story gun. 

After the Disney shop we headed into the Stephens Green Shopping Center and went into Tk Maxx. I don't usually like it but I just wanted to waste some time while the rain passed. I picked up an Elizabeth Arden Face Cleanser for only €10 was €24!! Bargain! 

As we where walking home I dropped into Boots and picked up hair care products. We also stopped off at the Candy Lab sweet shop in Temple Bar an got some munchies for later when we are watching a movie.   

Can't wait to try this shampoo out:) 

For only €10 I couldn't pass it up.

Sunday Beauty Routine!

Hi Guys, 

I hope you all had a lovely weekend? Sundays have always been lazy days in my house growing up as a kid, it was a day where you could just lie on the sofa, watch tele an eat your brains out before you got back to the reality of weekdays. 

I don't do this every Sunday but I do try even every second or third one to just be lazy and watch movies and play with Sean unless its a sunny day then we're outta here haha  

For my beauty routine it's not anything out if the ordinary or anything special its just things I don't have time to do during the week or things I have forgotten to do. 

• I take an extra long shower 

Shave some body parts, exfoliate body,     deep condition my hair. 

• After shower

Apply body butter, put hair up in towel, pluck eyebrows, apply face mask, paint nails. After I take off the face mask I use a lip scrub then apply lip balm and some face cream. Put on my jammies and some fluffy socks.

After all the beauty stuff is done I usually wash my make up brushes, clean the wand of my mascara, sometimes I blast my hair for 5-10 mins with the hair dryer and put it in either a bun or a plait. 

Once all that is done its a round of toastie cheese sandwiches and a lovely mug of tea with a magazine or two.

Oh how I love Sundays.... :)

Great idea for children!

Hi Guys, 

Seen this on Facebook and thought it was so cool and is such a great idea! It's great because it gives your little one something to focus their mind on while waiting on their time to be up meaning they are less likely to scream, cry, run or not do what they are told, by looking and waiting for the glitter to fall their mind is on that and not on the time.

 Great idea for first time parents.

Review: Kelly Brook nail polish

Hi Guys,

 

So last week when I was out looking for something to wear for  my birthday I seen some of Kelly Brooks nail polishes in New Look. They were all so nice but I fell in love with the yellow one called Neapolitan. Its such a great Spring/Summer colour, I have never owned any nail polishes this bright but I just knew I needed to try it and for €3.99 it wasn't as pricey as I thought it would be.

 

Packaging:

 

Lovely packaging love the little polka dots and Kelly's signature on the bottle. A very simple, cute girly bottle. Decent size bottle to and price is great.

 

What I thought of it:

 

Didn't look right while applying first coat, looked very messy and streaky ( if you understand me ) took 3 coats to look like it was okay but still very cheap looking or something I don't know hard to say but just didn't look right on the nails. Took ages to dry. Chipped very very soon into the night and the next day my nails looked like they where painted about 2 weeks ago, But in saying all that they colour is great. I'm going to try it with a different undercoat and over coat to see if anything changes.

 

Good nail polish for colour pay off but looks very messy on nails.

Fashion: Summer Shorts

Hi Guys,

 

With this lovely summer weather here to stay for a bit more I though id do a few more summer fashion posts. I'm one of the people who will just trow on which  ever maxi dress is closest to me in the morning. I don't usually mix up my summer style but in saying that I'm starting to get into shorts. With shorts you cant mix and match and top, from a tank top top, lose off the shoulder top, baggy jumper or a stylish blazer.

 

Bright colourful shorts can brighten up any mood:) Shorts are so easy to style wearing them going to the beach, music festival's or even just a casual day out and trowing on your favourite top and your ready to go.

Pre-Birthday Celebrations+Birthday

Hi Guys, 

So today (21st of July) is my birthday:) because it fell on a Sunday this year I went out on Friday to celebrate. I'm not a huge birthday person I don't like to make a fuss about myself so it was just a nice night out with family. Seán was off with his aunt for the night so I didn't have to worry about him ( even though I still did ) that's mammy's for ya lol 

We went down to the Clarion Hotel in the Ifsc and had some food and drinks in Kudos. Kudos has to be my Favourite bar now! It's so stylish, modern, comfortable, it had a great atmosphere, yummy food and the staff could not have been any nicer. We had a few drinks and got a platter of food and a plate of hot wings everything was amazing, the food was out quick and we got a good amount of food so no one was left hungry. We sat out side the bar which was so nice it felt like we where away, as it was a lovely cool night. 

After Kudos we headed down to our local pub and had an amazing night. I have to say I love my local pub I may not go there often but everyone I just so nice and welcoming and kind to each other. Their all like a huge family lol we all left around 1am-2am. I don't know how but we ended up in McDonald's and I got a Happy Meal :/ 

On the way home we meet my little brother and decided we should all go back to mine and have a few drinks. I never have drink in my house so we walked around  looking for a place that sells drink but sadly none where open. So in the end we went up to my Mam's "borrowed" her Captain Morgans ( we did give some of it back ) and went back to mine. The rest of night is a blur but I do remember my brother being the last one to leave at 7am!! It was one of the best birthdays I have had. My family are just the best love them so much. Got up Saturday morning with a clear head and no hangover :) yay! Lol 

I'm heading off today with my little monkey for a bit, then off to a family BBQ

Dublin Zoo

Hi Guys, 

Today myself, my mam, little brother, little  sister and Sean all went to the zoo :) 

We had a great day! The weather was amazing it was pretty hot for most of the day but cooled down near the end. 

We went about 11:30am and didn't leave till 5:40pm!! What a long, long day! 

We spent so much time just walking around taking our time looking and learning about all the different animals. We stayed for the Elephant talk, feeding of the penguins, sea lions and giraffes. Then went off and had our own little picnic up by the Petting Farm bit. If your going to the zoo the elephant talk is pretty cool. The kids and even adults loved it, it's on at 12:30. 

Everyone was so tired but the end of the day.

We stopped of at the gift shop before we left and picked up some small things. 

And my fav animal of all time.....
 

Kardashians Join Forces With Lipsy!

So along with their many Dash Stores and their kardashian Kollection in Dorothy Perkins, it's been announced today that the lovely fashionable Sisters are teaming up with British brand Lipsy. I cant wait to see what styles will be in the range.

Facial Sauna!

Hi Guys,

 

I was down with my nanny the other day and as you do over a cup of tea, you have a good moan about everything. I love going down to my Nanny's she is just the best she never fails to make me smile or laugh, I'm always in the best of moods when leaving even on the worst days. Anyways myself and my nan where chatting away about random things like which programmes on tele we like,  what are both doing the weekend ( my nan is very very active ) and showing each other new clothes we had just both. My nan is such a shopaholic ha she just buys and buys.

 

So while I was moaning about my skin kinda breaking out and black heads my nan gets up and leaves the room and to my surprise she comes back with a bag and gives it to me and says '' you have skin like your aunt, I hope this helps''. Inside the bag was a  Facial Sauna and a gift basket full of all different kinds of face masks, bath booms, sea salt and body sponge. :)) I couldn't stop smiling when I seen what was in the bag my nan is such a thoughtful person with a heart of gold, I love her so much :) Tea, biscuits and gifts great day ha

 

Iv never used one of the facial sauna things before but heard they are good so i cant wait to try it. Ill do a review on it to let you know what i think, how good it was things like that.

 

Quick Home Workout!

If you have a spare 15-30 minutes of your day why not do a small workout to keep your fitness levels up. Doing just 30 minutes a day of exercise can be so beneficial to your health. These workouts are quick and to the point with no equipment.

 

Start:

 

20 Squats

30 Lunges

40 Calf Raises  

30 sec Plank

100 Jump Jacks

40 sec Wall Squat

40 Sumo Squats

50 Press Ups

20 Squats

 

REPEAT 3 TIMES!!!

 

 

 

You can add in

 

Burpees

Crunches

Mountain Climbers

Skipping

 

And many more...

 

 

You can add in more or take some away it all depends on what you want to do and what your fitness levels are. Small things like walking, taking the staires or riding a bike can all make such a big difference to your health and fitness levels. As your fitness levers get better you can add in so much more and do more reps. Adding in weights as well can be a great tip too.

I have swapped out my normal tea for green tea! I love my cups of tea so this was a bit harder than I thought lol but worth it! I have gotten more used to the Green Tea with Lemon with is lovely and great for drinking in the mornings.

Little Holiday!

Hi Guys, 

I hope you all are enjoying the amazing weather we are getting :) it's so hot out absolutely stunning for once lol Don't forget to get your sun cream on ( kiddies too ) and drink plenty of water!:) 

Now onto what this post is about :) So last night we for home from a lovely night away. My friend kindly invited us down to a holiday home she was staying in, in Dundalk in the lovely Gyles Quays Caravan & Camping Park I think it was called . We went down early on Wednesday and came home late last night ( Thursday ). We had an amazing time I have never stayed in a holiday home before it was a great experience. The place was amazing!! It had a tennis court, play ground, football pitch and was just on the edge of the beach. The people that holiday/live there are sooo nice, everyone says hello and offers you help if you need it to, people where just so friendly. The weather was sooo amazing we had a lovely BBQ for dinner so yummy! Great first experience of a holiday home/ caravan park. Would definitely go there again. 

We all sat on the beach the first day for a few hours while waiting the on BBQ and had such a great time. I'm in shock at how tanned I came back!! I never tan! Never! I burn mainly on my chest then go back pale but the next after the beach even with factor 50+ on I got such a grey colour! My chest, arms, back and face are soooo tanned looking lol it's such a change for being pasty pale ;) my legs now they are a different story, they got two small red lines one them and that's it lol 

Seán had a great time playing with everyone and making lots of new friends. He loved going in the water in his new wet suit. It was a shame we only went for the one night a short weekend break or even a week would have been great but I'm thankful to my friend for inviting us down for the night :) I'm going to look into a weekend away to one again soon!:)

Amazing Sunny Day!!

A post from the other day I never uploaded! 

Today was such a lovely day, the weather was fantastic. Sean wasn't in the best mood today he was up late ( couldn't sleep with the heat ) and was still up early, so he was just in one of them moods where he didnt know what he wanted or where he wanted to go but as soon as he seen the park he came to life and was all smiles and back to his little happy chappy self :)

 

We went to the park, my word we where there for over 5 hours!  the heat just made us not want to walk or move from the park, but it was great. After the park we walked down to Clontarf its such a lovely walk, we got some ice cream and sat on the grass and had a little chat about things he wanted to do and just random stuff but mainly questions... Where do kids think of these questions lol they make no sense half the time ha

 

We made a list of places and things to do some of them are funny like a trip to the shop kids are so funny, I just love to listen to Sean talking about random things. Some of the things he wanted to do was:

 

Fishing

Golf ( mini )

Picnic

Feed the ducks

Swimming

Beach

Park

Go for ice cream

Go the toy shop ( his fav one lol )

 

And lots more....

 

I know this isn't a normal post its just a ramble about my day. I hope you all had a nice day and weather was lovely. I'm just going to relax for the night as Sean is washed, changed and in bed fast asleep, so I'm just going to put on a face mask and either read a book or watch Ms.Brown Boys or even a movie :))

 

 

 

Summer Make Up

Hi Guys,

 

With the weather being warm we always tend not to wear as much make up as we do in the winter and not as heavy to! My make up routine is always the same for each day of the summer just with a different colour on the lips. Its just a quick and easy look great for mammy's running out the door or days where you just want to do a quick face and get out to the sun:) I think it takes me not even 5 minutes maybe even 3 minutes to do this look. Its so easy and quick it never falls to get me ready and looking good when I'm in a hurry.

 

Do the usually to your face before applying your make up

 

Wash/ Exfoliate

Moisturise

Eye Cream

 

any thing you do before applying your make up :@

 

After my moisturiser has soaked into my face and neck I

 

Apply concealer to where I need it: Under eyes, spots, blemishes

Apply BB Cream ( leave it for a minute or two )

Apply a tiny bit of blush

Powder My Face

One coat of mascara

Dab of Lippy or tinted lip balm

 

And that's it!!

 

Its not much but it gets you ready fast, looking presentable, out the door in under 5 Min's and just looks effortless. You can change it up with some eye shadow and eye liner.

MAC Lipstick 'Impassioned'

Hi Guys,

 

I am now in the MAC Lipstick gang lol I bought my very first MAC Lipstick today and I am so happy with it:) Its one of the Guru cult shades lol every You tuber, blogger and make up artist has this lipstick....And now little old me too!

 

I don't think this will be my last lipstick from MAC! But at €18 a pop it will be a while before I buy an other one. One is enough for me for now.

 

As you can guess from the title I got Impassioned:) It is such a perfect shade for the summer.

 

Impassioned

 

A bright warm pink, its described on the MAC site as an amped up fuchsia.Amplified creme finish, rich and well pigmented. Has a smooth creamy finish, long lasting doesn't budge till you wipe it off, doesn't fade and best of all doesn't dry out your lips.

 

Great for giving any make up look a burst of colour, great for summer days to brighten up your look.

Absolutely love it!! So creamy, great colour,long lasting, suits my skin tone, great just great all round lip stick! Cant wait to but more lippys from MAC! One swipe and its *Bam* big bright lips.

 

 

White Nails????

Hi Guys,

 

Is it just me or is white nail polish in this season?? It just seams to be every where and on every body!

I'm kinda on the fence about this one! I do my nail polish but white?! I'm not sure of! Now I have to say it is lovely on most people I have seen it on but I'm not sue if I could pull it off:(

 

While shopping today I seen a few affordable ones I was temped to get a white polish but I opted for some pastels from Barry M... Maybe next week or tomorrow who knows lol I might head back up town and come home with one :)

DIY: Beach Hair Spray

Hi Guys,

 

I hope you all are well?

** Happy 4th of July **

 

I have been on the hunt again on line for more hair DIY's for you all :) I found a great spray for your hair to give it that natural, wavy, tousled look. With my hair being so long and that I'm tring to grow it I'm not using as much heat on it so these type of DIY's are great for getting your locks looking wavy and summer ready without any effort. It's simple and quick to make.

 

What you need:

 

Hair Gel

Sea Salt

Coconut Oil

Water

Spray Bottle

 

How to make:

 

Mix in a bowl or bottle!

 

Hair Gel- 3 tbsp

Sea Salt- 3 tbsp

Coconut Oil- 1/2 tsp

Water- 1 cup

 

Mix it all up and you have your beachy sea salt hair spray:)

DIY: Lemon Body Summer Scrub

Hi Guys,

 

I ran out of body scrub last night so I went looking on line for some diy ones (again) and found a quick and handy one that smells lovely and works a treat :) With the summer hopefully on its way I want to have my skin at its best plus I'm trying yo get myself into a routine of body scrubs and body moisturising after each shower or bath as I tend to skip the body part and just wash with a body wash but I am going to change it. :) Smooth, silky, sexy, summer skin is on the way for me lol My skin will be summer ready in no time at all :)

 

For your scrub you will need:

 

Sea Salt

Lemon

Olive Oil

Jar/Bowl

 

How To Make:

 

Mix in a bowl

 

Two cups of Sea Salt

One Tbs of Lemon

Half cup of Olive Oil

 

Mix well in a bowl and then transfer into a jar with a seal lid.

Quick and easy!

Bad Hair Day!

Hi Guys, 

So it nearly 1am here and I can't sleep so I thought I'd do a little post about my hair! 

I washed my hair today and it just annoyed me at how much hair was in the plug hole!! It seams to be growing pretty well but I do have some concerns with it. I have noticed that the hair along the top of my forehead and left side of it to look to be either falling out or thinning!!:( The past few weeks I have been noticing it and its been really getting me not down but just a tad concerned about it. I was thinking that maybe I should try the viviscal 3 month trail to see how my hair takes to it but when I looked it up on line it is pretty expensive and the bottles aren't that big and with my hair being so long I wouldn't get 3 weeks out of them let alone 3 months!! I'm going to go to my local chemist on the next few days and see what's out there to help my hair. 

I really want my hair to be at its best for when I'm donating it. I would hate to think my hair is in bad shape and wouldn't be any good. 

Ill do a full update on my hair donation soon with photos of how long it is an how much will be cut off :)
